First episode of Nach Baliye 2 was launched on 25 th September and managed to pick up 27% channel share (ratings) amongst General Entertainment Channels* (GEC's) in the target group NWE CS4+. It picked up shares from all half hour day parts starting from 8:30 PM till 11:00 PM. These gains were made at the expense of predominant channels in those dayparts.

As figure 1 exhibits most of the gains of Star One came at the expense of Star Plus, except in the 9:00PM to 10:00 PM daypart. In the same time band its usage per viewer shot up by 243% over the previous Monday (September 18, 2006).

Figure 2, clearly shows that Star One has held on to its channel share for the second episode as well, but it starts to lose steam in the 10:30 to 11:00 PM daypart, where Star Plus picks up Channel Share rapidly.

The audience flow charts ( Chart 1 and Chart 2) clearly show the audience flowing between the selected GEC's furthering the case that the channel share gains and losses are stemming predominantly from these 6 channels.

* For the purpose of this analysis we have taken GEC's as Star Plus, Zee TV, SET, Sahara One, Star One and DD1 National.
