It is evident that there are three distinct age groups within CS 4 –14. The three age groups in which this could be divided are viz. CS 4-8, CS 8-12 and CS 12-14. The youngest of the lot watch the least amount of TV and oldest watching the maximum.

Zooming into a specific kids channel shows three key dayparts that are most important to this age group one in the morning, second pre noon and finally in the evening. Here too there are different patterns of consumption that emerge with the youngest age group strongest in all the three key dayparts and the oldest of the lot watching least of the three groups. Refer figure 2.

The difference in consumption is also evident from ratings of various channels as is evident from figure 3, wherein younger TG prefers channel A over other two channels with more evolved content. Figure 4 also shows a similar trend wherein the ratings for younger TG is the lowest for this evolved genre and this genre gets the highest ratings in the oldest TG.
