Sony Entertainment Television launched Virrudh on 26th March, 2007. Following is an attempt to understand the audience composition for the launch episode and the increase in ratings numbers over the previous program in the same time band.
Some basic facts:
- Virrudh improved the ratings for the time band by 72% over the average of last four Mondays.
- The previous daypart also benefited from the surge and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si also saw its net reach jump by a similar factor.
- 57% of the viewers of the previous (Ek Ladki Anjaani Si) daypart flowed into the program and constituted to 51% of the total reach of the launch episode of Viruddh.
- Previous Monday the flow of 21:00 hrs daypart to 21:30 hrs daypart was pegged at 52% but both these dayparts were producing lesser ratings.
- 26% of the Virrudh viewers tuned into SET for the first time during the day to watch program.
- 28% of Virrudh viewers flowed into Durgesh Nandini.
